Welcome back to Term 2

Hi everyone and welcome back to Term Two. The caterpillars have been hard at work learning some new literacy and maths games. We work well together in our groups to help each other learn.

Making chocolate nests

Today we made chocolate nests for Easter. We had a special helper, Miss Vagana, who also took some cool photos of us making them.

We love reading!!

The Caterpillars have been hard at work this term, we have been practising our reading skills and taking every opportunity to read. We bring our book bags every day and we love reading in our library corner. Miss Martin has seen lots of improvement in our reading which is awesome!!

Our trip to Maraetai beach

 Today we visited Maraetai for our beach trip. The weather started off a little chilly but it soon warmed up. The Caterpillars were so excited to travel on the bus and see the beach.

 We began the day by making sandcastles and going swimming. We were splashing in the water and swimming with the noodles. Jumping over the waves was lots of fun!

After lunch we played on the playground and with the parachute, played rugby and soccer and collected some shells and seaweed.

 We travelled back to school on the bus. We had such a great day and some of us were a little tired. 

A big thank you to the parents who came along and gave their time to help. 

In maths we have been making patterns with teddy bears.
